We launched The 2030 Project in 2023, after the 2022 election cycle spotlighted the unjust voting districts throughout Georgia. While Georgians chose Joe Biden, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, this same choice has not been reflected in our state legislature. Republicans have maintained a stranglehold on state-wide politics for 19 years, slashing regulations for businesses while increasingly infringing on our rights. Whether in Atlanta or Savannah, Athens or Macon, gerrymandered maps mean that Democrats are blocked out of government, leading to unrepresented communities and extremist policies here in Georgia.

 

We know that Georgia deserves better. We were inspired by the success of Project 83, which flipped the Michigan legislature in 2022. We founded the 2030 Project to make sure that people choose their legislators in Georgia, not the other way around. At the heart of our work lies a commitment to year-round organizing, community empowerment, and fostering positive change.

 

By focusing on communities, not candidates, we aim to make lasting gains in Georgia.
